Keep it simple, make it work #2.3

Welcome to the eigth week of my decluttering and organizing of home spaces series.
This week we will declutter and organize our make up.

What I carry around
Day 1: base and powder. Do they smell "funny"? Out they go. Has the base become watery or lost its colour? It is no longer useful.  Are the colours still "you"?

Picture taken in my backyard in November 2008 because the base powder looked like a sun against the Oh-so-blue sky!

Day 2: eye shadows and eye liners. Be careful with these as well. Last week for my wedding anniversary dinner I decided to use an eye liner that was several years old and that I hadn´t used for ... around the same amount of years. About ten seconds after applying I was running towards the make up bag to find the make up remover. My eyes were red and itchy! Lesson learnt: whatever dust/bacteria it had gathered went straight into the bin with my old eye liner.

Day 3: lip balm, lip gloss, lip colour. If it smells odd or is oily you´d be better off not using it again.

Day 4: brushes and other make up applicators. Brow tools and tweezers. Are the handles brittle? Are they clean enough? Is the material desintegrating? Can you find dangerous rusty points? As a matter of fact: can you find them? No, really. Do you have to run around, opening all drawers to find your tools? Keep them together in a make up bag or box. You don´t to be stressed when you only have a few minutes before you go out.

Day 5: skin care cream, tonic. Check best before date and general state of cleansers, moisturizers, exfoliators, toners, mists and creams.

Day 6: lists day. Get a hair cut and colour appointment. Organize a spa day with friends! Get some fashion magazines to read what is trendy for this season

Day 7: enjoy your day off!

The project´s summary:
9 months to streamline your home spaces and systems
3 months for the practical spaces: kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room
3 months for the shared areas: entry hall, living room, dining room
3 months for the personal spaces: bedrooms, office, hobbies room
1 big task each week illustrated with my own pictures and daily {gentle} reminders, tips and cheering at my Facebook page. Like it to be able to receive them every day and record your progress with a friendly crew!
