AEDM 2011: Day 18 Paint Party Friday #36

Every week I participate in Wishcasting Wednesdays hosted by Jamie Ridler and Paint Party Friday hosted by Kristin &Eva. That means I have about 130 possible posts to read. I can make it to about 60 of them weekly. My method? My closest friends first and then I "balance the lines", adding people I know little or not at all. {Disclaimer, some weeks I don´t even make it to a dozen! Sorry!}
With Art Every Day Month I have over 100 DAILY posts to add. Cue to overwhelm. This year I´m going with the "multiples" method. E.g: on the 14th of November I visited & commented on #14, #28, #42, #56, #70, #84 & #98.
Have you got a commenting method?

For Art Every Day Month I show each day what I created the day before. My table on Nov. 17th:

Based on Donna Downey´s Inspiration Wednesday video Scrapbook paper scraps as a first layer.
Acrylics (burnt siena & medium skin tone). Too dark.
Squish of nude. Note to self: Self, sweetie, it looks kinda cool, remember this for the next one.
Watercolour pencils for flowers. By then it was midnight and not even the dryer was drying fast enough for me. I might call this done or not. It all depends on how it looks tomorrow morning. Oh, and I used the tapping on pencil trick too.
It seems to need something else. What do you suggest?
For Paint Party Friday I´ll also show you a summary of the painted pieces of the week and my working table those days.
You can find the original posts at my Home page to read what I´ve learnt this week that was all about experimenting.

  1. Hi Paula,

Yes, it certainly can be overwhelming to try and comment on all AEDM members' blogs daily. I generally make sure I visit my regular friends' blogs first and then I kinda try to get through them all but end up just choosing links randomly due to lack of time. I do enjoy seeing what everyone is up to.

I love the flowers you've added on your latest pages. Yes, I think it needs a little something too...perhaps some words/text?

You've achieved quite a lot this past week...nice work!

    Love, light and peace,
    Serena xo

  4. Now that's a great idea for a commenting method! I only participate in AEDM and couldn't imagine keeping up with much else. *bows*

  5. beautiful pages, I comment back to all who comment on my blog and I comment on the blogs I follow next, I can't comment on everyone but I make a point of commening back on those who have taken the time to comment on mine, I can see how it must be difficult for you, just do what you can, I don't think anyone wants blogging to become a chore one hates to face,, be happy , we love your work, I will visit wether you visit me or not, no worries, I enjoy reading all sorts of blogs and lots don't visit back, I don't do it for that,

  8. I know what you mean - sometimes I need 2 hours to get round and comment, and I don't always manage all, it's impossible. But I don't have a method in my madness! I love the pages you have made; I often do things like that in my journal! All the best, Valerie

  10. beautiful pages. I try to comment as much as I can, I know the support is so important. But it's impossible to visit everyone especially during aedm. xo

  11. Your pages are looking good so far!

I vary my visiting process too - just in case I don't get to everyone (though I always try to when I'm in town)

Often I will do 1-5, 11-15, 21-25 etc then work backwards with 30-26, 20-16 etc. Othertimes I will do even then odd. Sometimes I start in the middle or the end. I like your idea too - multiples. Maybe I will try that next week!

  13. Hi Paula, you are very creative with all sorts of cool things! I loved seeing your art desk too! :0) I get overwhelmed with commenting sometimes so now I only participate in two things a week and I try to keep up with the comments by replying as quick as possible otherwise if I have a lot it gets a bit overwhelming! I love catching up on what everyone has been doing though. I think that your method is a very good idea if you have that many people to comment on! :0)

  14. Hi Paula... my commenting method is head to my favourites first and then fit in the ones that I can... I am a touch behind this week, but have set aside time today... you have had such a productive week when i see it all laid out like that... lovely to see it as a group xx

  15. I like seeing all the things you're working on. And comments can get overwhelming at times but I think everyone understands that and has the same problem.

  16. I know what you mean about feeling overwhelmed. I just take the whole weekend, and visit a few blogs while a coat of paint is drying.

Love the flower page, and I agree with Serena, maybe some text written around the flowers.

  17. At the beginning of the day I start at the beginning of the list and comment on as many as I can fit in. At the end of the day I do my very best to respond to everyone who has commented to me. I leave the list up and try to sneak in a couple of more throughout the week until the next blog hop starts then I move on. ~Happy Paint Party Friday! #9 Robin Panzer Art Studio 33
