Chapter 1: There we go

Time to start reading Chapter 1, aka Week 1.

I have created a Facebook page for Paula – Buenos Aires so we can gather on line at any time. We can share our experiences as they happen, we can seek for support or a helping hand with any questions you may have about the book. It´s here, click on the link to be taken to my personal page. I´m still playing around to learn how to make the most of it. :)

I went back to my 2007 notes to see the way I had worked through the book then. I was doing it a week per week. I read the chapter to know what it was about and thought about the tasks and lists. Then I read the chapter again to see if I had missed something, refined the process and wrote the answers. For week 1 they were all one liners, three lines at the most. The rest of the chapters took about 4/5 pages.

For my on line check ins I wrote three paragraphs: one about the morning pages (how many times I had showed up, were they joyful pages or not), one about the artist´s date (some weeks I skipped that one) and a third one for other meaningful stuff.

With two weeks for chapter we may pace ourselves to be able to go over all the tasks, even if we don´t complete everything. You will discover your own rythm.

Talking about rythms, today you may write about your hopes, dreams and even fears about this journey we are embarking on.

How to share with MrLinky: you type in your name in the first box (the way you´d introduce yourself) and then the url/link to your post (not your whole blog url) where you share your work with the current chapter. When you come back next week your name will likely automatically be entered but you need to redo or paste over the url/link with your new post's address.

Next week: still on Chapter 1. Wanna check in? Stop by and link to your experiences so far.

The Facebook page sounds like a great idea! I will check it out in the morning. Right now it's way past my bedtime. :)

I do want to let you know that I'm SO happy that we have two full weeks to work on each chapter. This works so much better with my busy schedule. I'll still try to squeeze in artist's dates weekly, but I'm feeling more relaxed knowing we're not rushing through it all.

I went a little overboard with my first artist date, but only because it was available and happening the night I made some time for myself. The rest aren't going to be so wild...I don't think. :)

Happy 4th of July Weekend and I'll be blogging about one of the tasks soon!!

Congratulations on getting all of this going. I began the Artist's Way awhile ago but never finished. I loved going on artist's dates and am going to begin to incorporate that into my week again. I am really looking forward to taking this adventure with you.

Just got my Week 1 - Getting started post up on my blog. Phew. I'm telling ya, already I'm feeling the wheels turning and I just know this is going to be really good for me. I've hit the LIKE button on the FB page you made and will be checking in to see what's going on, but I don't know if I feel comfortable sharing through it as, I presume, it's open for all of my FB connections to see? Which I don't necessarily want to happen - even family. Especially family (a.k.a. The Censors). Hope you're having a great weekend!

Hi Paula and the gang. I'm so sorry but I'm not going to be able to take part in this after all. I have taken on way too many commitments this summer, so for my own sanity I'm going to have to step down.

I wish you all a wonderful work through of the book and am sure you'll be reaping the benefits in no time.

One day I will get around to reading this book....

Just wanted to thank you for commenting on my blog. I am coming along... it will be fine. I was real tired that first day, but now it is good.

I'm happy to have extra time and take it slow as I always take on too much. That being said I am anxious to begin. I am thinking up a great artist date and will post about it soon!
I agree with "Dream with the fishes"...I won't post too much on fb due to "the critics" but will post on my blog which most family and friends don't care about. My blog is my secret place to have fun only shared wit online supportive people.
