Sarah Keerie makes a crafty pizza box

Sarah Keerie is the queen of paper crafts tutorials. She is an extremely neat crafter with a wonderful sense of colour and design. This week she is decluttering too, so she is the perfect guest for week #28.

Here is her story:

After having a good session in tidying up and clearing stamps and punches and paper etc etc, now all worn out with listing  all the things that I have really to say goodbye too (if you want to see some of what is going (hopefully) you can find my listings here!).  I have so much ‘old shop stock’ lurking around after all the years from having closed the shop that it is really time to bulk it up and see if someone else out in the crafting world can make use of it.  I must admit I was terribly tempted to lick every sheet of the Chatterbox papers, but well, I resisted the urge – so far   I have also popped on some retired products on to my main shop page here.  Apologies to my overseas readers, postage constraints mean I am only posting to the UK for the humungous sized items.

Making the pizza boxes is really easy and all you need is one sheet of cardstock.  I am making the boxes to fit cards that will be 4″ square, including some like this that I made the other day.

I want the height of my box to be 0.5″ and the width to be 4.25″ so I have trimmed my cardstock down so it measures 10 x 5.25″

I then score each edge at 0.5″.  Then at 5.25″ flip the cardstock over and again at 5.25″. Using my bone folder, I give each score line a good crease.  Once creased I then snip down the score lines and rather than do the folding and sticking at this stage I have gone for decorating my ‘lid’. After making a few of these, I’ve decided that doing the top is easier as it is firmer to get things stuck on!

I’ve decorated the lid using some paper from the gingham garden pack.  If you haven’t seen them, check out the chalk talk stamps and framelits, you can get these as a bundle and save some ££s.
