Week #33 2013 Living the hostel experience

As I went through the week´s pics I noticed that we had had visitors every day of the week! Several had stayed for meals and one to sleep over more than once.

After the first few days of confusion in July about plans changing every hour I took it into stride and learnt how to cook for 4, 5, 6 or 8 at any given meal. I will write more about it on my decluttering and organizing series as I think it will be useful for other moms. ;)

For Creative Every Day challenge 2013 by Leah Piken Kolidas, I´m taking at least a picture a day for the whole year. I´ve checked 226 out of the possible 229 pictures for 2013 so far. Click on the pictures to see them bigger!

Monday, August 12th (220/223): Tati is into felt dolls making now so we bought some colorful materials. :)
Tuesday, August 13th (221/224): the German kids are back! We picked David and his friend Marius up from school as they arrived from Iguazú at 8am. We took them home for breakfast and then Daniel drove them to Belgrano neighbourhood. Back home for dinner they tried a traditional dessert: queso y dulce. Cheese and sweet potato. They were mesmerized by a caramelized potato with chocolate. ;)
Wednesday, August 14th (222/225): Lukas was near home and came to watch football with David and Mati. The German kids went for nachos and Lukas stayed over.
Thursday, August 15th (223/226): Today Luisa (another German exchange student at our school and David´s girfriend) came home. Also Marius who needed to phone for a taxi and stayed for a while. Frida is very happy about all those kids paying her attention. :D

Friday August 16th (224/227): Warning: proud mommy moment. Matias was once more our school´s National Flag escort based on his great grades. The first flag you see on the left is the Buenos Aires´ one. One kid from each Year 3 class is chosen by their peers to carry that one. The one in the middle is the Argentinian one, carried by the three best average grades of Year 6. The one on the right is the German one because our school is bilingual.
Saturday, August 17th (225/228): the boys went dancing yesterday night and the three of them came home so after lunch we took them around the city to see the Recoleta neighbourhood. It has a magnificent cementery with beautiful art and a lot of history, a 1730s church, a huge craft fair and a Hard Rock Café. Yes, that one was their main focus. Teens. Lol! We also visited Galerías Pacífico which wowed them with the ceiling frescos and drove the long way home for them to see the city by night.
Sunday, August 18th (226/229): we visited the Olivos port.
Bonus tracks:
Avenue Corrientes, the street that never sleeps
Taking pics of Galerías Pacífico

Puerto Madero. Hey! Look! I´m on the picture! ;)

Lovely 'proud mum' moment Paula.

With all those folk coming & going I just don't know how you manage.

Great photos.

I commend you on going with the flow with all of the comings and goings. That dessert sounds like a wonderful combination of sweet and savory. Yum!

Wow, I don't think I could handle all those back-to-back visitors. My hat is off to you. I remember finding that sweet potato treat when I was in Miami at a Latin American store or restaurant, not sure now which. Yummy!

I'm always so impressed by how much you get done with how busy you are! Wow!

Your house must be THE place to be. :) And no wonder, you are always having such fun.

Congrats to your son and to the proud mama!

During the 90s I traveled to Argentina for 2 months and had a buenos aires rent, I truly miss going to San Isidro, or watching a Boca´s football match. Great city, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.
