What do you wish to claim?

I´m a mom to two teens, a 17 year old boy and a 14 year old girl. I chat a LOT with them. :)
A couple of weeks ago I realized that not only I speak to them as if they were older which I have done since they were born but also I speak as if I were younger.

In my head I was not a day over 26.
That stopped me in my tracks. For some days I felt extremely old. Yeah, I know. It was all in my head but it felt so real at the time.
Then I remembered a song by Ricardo Arjona that calls forty-somethings "the perfect mix of experience and youth".
That is what I wish to claim. My experience and my youth. ;)

It's funny but I've always talked to my daughter as if she were older and I was her peer. When she was little everyone marveled at her vocabulary. So that is a benefit. The other its that we not only mother and daughter (now that she is grown) but like best friends. :-) and I don't feel a day over 29 LOL

I have three kids, and I feel like I talk to them like a cheerleader, rallying them on in a positive way. Wasn't 1990 ten years ago? ;)

I may be turning 50 in a few weeks, but i swear sometimes, I'm not a day over 16!

"40 is the old age of youth and 50 is the youth of old age" :-)

I love the idea of 40-somethings being the perfect combination of experience and youth. Love it!

I love that you have such a wonderful relationship with your children! As you wish for yourself, so I also wish for you.

You mean 1990 wasn't 10 years ago - where has the time gone ? LOL
