A first: the layout before the picture

It all started with the family birthday party page for Mati´s album. I had some circles left and a big chunk of a patterned paper.

As I had already worked with that pattern for ds I kept it for dd, together with another matching paper I hadn´t used. They looked nice together, so I started adding embellies. All without knowing where I was heading towards, lol.

A bit here, a bit there. That metal flower may have some ribbons left from another project. This Prima flower with a Doodlebug brad may cover the "to" and "from" legend on the Rhona Farrer chipboard thingie ... add, add, shuffle and add some more.

And voilá, a page without a single picture. "Ermmmmmmm, but there IS a picture there", you say. Yes, there is one NOW, but there wasn´t when I created the page. The point is, it works. Play with scraps first, add picture later. :)

What a great way to start a page, I nearly always start with my pic first but lately having to work with kits I have come to realise it can work both ways, love this Paula - thanks for sharing XXX

I wish I could make myself use my scraps. You have inspired me. I think I'll give it a try. The layout is very eye catching. Just beautiful.

I love this theory. What a unique way of looking at scrapbooking. And it's good because you're making do with what you have instead of spending a mini-fortune on specific pieces.

What a fun process -- and your page turned out beautifully! I love the design and all your elements work so well together.
