Books

Today we went to the library. I have been a member since 1984.  That is 25 YEARS this month!

I was in my last year of high school when I became a member and it was a year full of adventures: the library, I learnt swimming and enroled in jazz dance classes. Oh, the memories! *grin*
In the summer of 1989 I had a brief summer job there, testing if librarianship was really my thing and I worked for them again after graduating. I even got my name in a local paper thanks to my role in the inauguration of their new place.
Today I went with my two kids. I had no idea my life would develop like this when I first met these people.

After the library (got books for the four of us for our holidays) we had a little detour in our way home and had a browse at the sales book shop. The kids got one each for the holidays.
Guess what they chose?
Mati a book about the World Wars (he is very much into tactical military) and Tati one about dogs. Yes, I know, no surprises there. :D

And a pic of our obelisc just because it was there. See the yellow and black cars? Those are our taxis.

Both pics taken with my cell phone camera.

Wow I have not been to library in a loooong time. I use to love going. But I do go to Barnes and Nobles quite often.

Have a great week.

Oh that sunshine looks lovely - we currently have snow. Well actually it is now solid ice.

I rarely go to the library these days as there are so few books on the shelves - so disappointing - not at all the wonderful place I remember from childhood.

Maybe you will appreciate this librarian comic: http://xkcd.com/280/

If you hover your mouse over the comic, you get an extra laugh, too.

Library clerk was my first "real" job.

Oh, and Happy New Year!
