When I´m working on other pieces and prepare my colours I use till the last drop of acrylics. I´ve been playing with paint on magazine pages. Practicing layers and drippings with what was left of my girl in the doorway.
I wanted to see the result from afar before adding words (as in an art journal, only working of separate papers) so I taped the pages with masking tape to a picture at the far end of the dining room (which is doubling up as a craft room these days). Just imagine my hubbie´s surprise when he opened the blinds the next day. :D My own private exhibition. I´m easily amused. ;)
Part 2: Where I paint without paint.
Another double spread for my Wishcasting Journal by Jamie Ridler. Using images and words from magazines and coloured pens.
My cross stitch dragon. Fifteen years in the making and soooooo close to being completed. Using coloured threads.
Part 3: Time for a Full Moon board! You can post your own board somewhere on the web and then link to it at Jamie Ridler´s post for this month´s moon.

As usual for the past three years I use the current issue of the chosen magazine (this year Oh La Lá)
If you see this board as too grey and schematic ... that is exactly how I´m feeling about my pieces this past two weeks. *sigh*
Side B got a bit busier but I still don´t see what all this is about. It´s been a long time since I´ve been so perplexed by a board.

Thanks for visiting! Looking forward to what you´ve been up to this week. See you in cyber space! :)

Great post, Paula! I like what you did with the magazine pages and that cross-stitch dragon is AMAZING!!! Maybe your board will have more meaning for you as time progresses...it looks pretty good from where I'm sitting ~ :)
Love,

I love the pinks and greens you used. Isn't working with magazine pages fun!
Hi Paula
I am visiting from Paint Party Friday.
The magazines pages are a huge success.

I enjoyed your post with all the wonderful full moon art. I especially am awed at your cross stitch piece! Just beautiful and I am sure took many hours of work. Years ago I embroidered a tablecloth in blue willow. I would never have the patience to attempt a piece like yours. :-)
Very cool pieces. LOVE the cross stitch - looks like a real challenge! But it does look almost dome! (Keep going!)
Hi Paula. It's a lot of fun working with paper this way, but it can be addicting. I do love the pinks and greens, great job! Happy PPF!
Well done with your cross stitch...you'll soon be able to get it framed.
I think you had a great idea for looking at those pags - bet hubby was most surprised when he opened the curtains.

Wow - you've been busy and clearly like exploring lots of creative avenues. I also cross stitch and have a few that were 2-3 years in the making, but 15 is pretty astounding. But then it looks like a very complex piece - it's gorgeous.

Loving your dragon!. The magazine pages look fun. I often scrape up extra paint and just brush and rub it onto a canvas, coming back months later to paint a picture on it. Happy PPF>
Interesting stuff you're working on! I started that same dragon about 10yrs ago. I think I finally got rid of it when I moved 2yrs ago. I knew I would never get it finished. Bravo to you for sticking with it! It's going to be magnificent.

I don't see your board as too gray at all. I love the images in a circle all around the base. And the London Calling is calling ME! Give it time. I think it will reveal itself to you. ;)
