Paint Party Friday #29

In Julia Cameron´s "The artist´s way" chapter 6, we are asked to make a change in our house.
That meant it was time to get going with my candy box. It had been chosen to be recycled back in June.
At that time I posted the progress to a coat of white base. And then it slept in a "to be finished" corner.
This week I added another white coat and then the decoupaged flowers. You won´t notice much difference so I won´t post a picture of the same box with clear varnish. I will be painting the patina next week.
Another piece that got some work on and actually got finished was my brush holder.
Here it is in its original plain wood state.
This week it got white coated. I also chose the acrylics and the paper napkins to go with it. Cheerful little tree with owls and geometric shapes.
You can see my "left overs" journal at the back, ready for new colours. I chose three from the napkin to paint the inside of the holder.
Ta Da!
You can also visit the original Paint Party Friday site for many links to fab artists. :)

What great ideas you have. The brush holder is terrific, much nicer than my mismatched retired coffee mugs.

Now that I got to come and really look at this, close up (not from my mobile phone like yesterday), I am absolutely drooling over your marvelous painting and decoupage work! This is something else that's been on my backburner forever and you are lighting a fire under my ass to finally go and do it. I've collected I can't tell you how many wonderful little pieces to decorate (frames, cubbies, boxes, even these awesome plastic half dress forms!) and it's all been gathering dust. INSPIRATION GALORE OVER HERE!!
