PPF and Blogtoberfest

Too early, too late, too bland, too messy, too dark ... *sigh*
My painting life is full of "too"s at the moment.
I usually draw while waiting for the kids at the school´s gates. By Friday I have some sketches ready to show. Like these:

Then I photocopy my favourites and work them into my journal.

Not one of them is ready to see the light yet. I´m trying the layering effect, looking to paint past the "I´ll ruin this if I add one more layer" thought that has kept me in a one/two layers max mode for a long while. Using copies and not originals help. Now I´m getting the "one too many layers" look. I still need to find the point when the layers are "enough". Maybe next week for Paint Party Friday I may have found it and post something actually finished!.
Still I´m blogging for Blogtoberfest.

Lovely sketches! That's a great idea to work on photocopies, that way you can try out all kinds of things and it doesn't really matter. Great way to learn and get past the "scared to ruin it-phase ...

Well, I am with everyone else, looking forward to seeing how you used these sketches with other layers and how they turned out.
