AEDM 13 Day 9

Our prompt for Life on the Go today was "new", so I kept my eyes open to find the photo ops. For example, this is my new Bundle of Joy by Echo Park kit. I will be scrapping some girl pages and then I will mix it with the previous baby boy one to scrap pictures of both my kids together.

Finished layout for Day 8 of Art Every Day Month. My girl´s first day of school on her last primary school year.
My working table on Nov 8th.

Week 23

For Creative Every Day 2012, I´m taking a picture a day for the whole year. This is my third time around with the Pic-a-day project and at the end of each month I make a mosaic of the month´s pictures. I´ve taken 158 out of the possible 161 pictures so far.

Sunday, June 3rd (152/155): Queen Elizabeth II of England´s Diamond Jubilee. I watched the BBC first but their coverage was kind of slooooow, so I tried CNN which had Brit presenters and fun interviews for the duration of the event.
Monday, June 4th (153/156): evening´s tea at Tati´s computer is a daily ritual.
Tuesday, June 5th (154/157): Venus eclipsed the sun by going in between the Sun and the Earth. I followed part of the transit by the on line direct feed from Nasa´s webcams in Hawaii.
Wenesday, June 6th ( 155/158): somebody got a new red rug.
Thursday, June 7th (156/159): lunch with my bff Vivi at La Brava, a local bar/restó. Those "pinchos" were delicious!!! Chicken, parma ham and champignons. Super yummy.
Friday, June 8th (157/160): quoting myself from FB:  I think I´ve reached the breaking point where I´m doing too many things at the same time. For the first time in years ... I burnt dinner!!!! As a matter of fact I burnt three lunches to be precise. *sigh*
Saturday, June 9th (158/161): the German Ambassador came to our school with a quality prize signed by Germany´s president. Long story for this one:  I´m the "unofficial official" photographer for such events. This time I e-mailed the marketing person to say my camera was out of order and I wouln´t be bringing it with me today for the premiere of the theatre play for the 90 years of the school. Big panic ensued when I arrived as somehow nobody had got my message. No worries, the theatre group would have their own photographer, I said. Fine, we´ll give you her camera. {WTF?} Nooooooo, I came as a guest today, she´ll take the pics, I answered while walking backwards. That was until I saw her. She was truly panicking with her camera, which turned out to be her son´s camera and she had no idea how to use. Cue to an unltraquick autodidact course and me taking the photographs. We also had the visit of the local Mayor and another top shot of the Education Secretary. This one was the personal picture I took with my iPod. I might be getting copies of the ones I took with the pro camera some time.
{Sunday snippets}: is a collection of photos from your week. This way I can also add the pics that didn´t make "picture of the day" but are still significant to document our family life.  Stop by {tinniegirl}'s blog for more or to play along! I´ll be playing too. :) The tagline is: "No need for words.  Let the pictures tell your story."  Sitting on my hands here not to be too wordy. Please feel free to ask anything you want to know about them. :)

Advent 2011, Day 14: What is your deepest wish?

For my December views:
December 12th, Matías is helping me out with Tatiana´s prom souvenir. A cd with 280 pictures of 6 years of school events. I went through a few thousand digital pictures to identify almost a thousand of Tati´s school related ones, chose 400 and then weeded them down to 280. Whew! Matu made some animations for the introduction and added music. This is his computer.
December 13th: thanks to Leah´s Art Every Day Month I´m back to scrapbooking. This is my 2012 diary title page for July.
December 14th: Coming later.

Every Wednesday I participate in Wishcasting Wednesdays lead by Jamie Ridler.
Today her prompt is "What is your deepest wish?" To share yours and read what other wishers have to say you may visit the original post for today by Jamie clicking here.

One deepest wish? Oh, that´s a tough one these days! I´m participating in Quinn McDonald´s deep writing and walking meditation and that brought a whirldwind of feelings and plans based on them. I have loads of wishes bubbling. As I always do when I don´t have a clear vision, I let the subject simmer. BTW: when I opened her site to link I noticed she mentioned me today! Thrilled to be a part of it.

My top wish at the moment: Spend a Phineas & Ferb like summer with the kids!
You know what? Right after writing that, all the other wishes took a step back. ;) There are more, I´ll be telling you my plans soon. :D

Advent 2011, Day 7: What do you wish to celebrate?

Today is Jamie´s birthday so when she asked "What do you wish to celebrate?" for Wishcasting
Wedenesday today of course she made top of my list! :D
She is the awesomest creative coach ever and shares her gifts generously with the world. She´s got the most contagious laugh and the most encouraging and comforting voice. I know it might sound contradictory but she manages to be just like that. :) She is a real joy to read and listen to and I´m very happy we have met.
Happy birthday Jamie!

On other news for my December View: proud mommy moment ahead. Tati finished primary school and she got the National Flag escort position for the last school event of the year. She is the one on the right hand side of the picture, next to the flag bearer.

It was a touching ceremony with the girls & boys from Year 6 saying goodbye to the school and their duties as escorts and giving the flags to the Year 5 kids.

Today we celebrate these kids achievements and also the fact that Year 6 finished their primary education.
I want to celebrate one more thing: no more packed lunches!!! Yay! Summer holidays here we go!

What do you wish to enjoy?

This might sound long winded but it is going somewhere, promise. :D
In October 2010 I was asked to take pics at the Familienfest at my kids´ school. Fun activities, many of them outdoors. Loads of families/teachers were taking pics as well. Edited to add: some of the pictures I took were published in the school´s magazine. This mosaic is a personal selection for you to see what the party was about.
Same thing at the Fest der Jugend (Youth Party, all gym activities for bilingual German/Argentinian schools).
This year I was asked to take pics of the new classrooms for the school records.
So far, so good. The school events had many other cameras going around. And the blackboards wouldn´t go anywhere. If the pics were rubbish I could take them again.
Yesterday I had my first gig as a solo photographer.
I had hot and cold flashes all the time. No other cameras present. It was an event that couldn´t be repeated. There were people from the German embassy there as the school was being inspected by the German Culture department (I know there is a proper name for it). I had to be precise, I had to be discreet. Edited to add: these are going to be the school´s "official" photographs of the event.
Can you say nervous wreck?
I wish to be able to enjoy these type of functions too. I felt very brief moments of connection, the camera, the people, the moment, the story. Most of the time I could feel my flustered cheeks.
