More Chatterbox pages

"indian girl" Based on "Pout" by Karen (Scrapdolly): here in her gallery

Chatterbox papers, flowers, jewels and alpha stickers: Villa kit.

Chatterbox corners: Guest Room kit.

The "stray" pink corner points at dd in middle of all the other little indians meeting Columbus and his crew. Therefore the little jewels at the bottom too.

"Columbus started his journey at all cost." (Spanish word game really: a toda costa means at all costs but also refers to the coast of the sea) is based on sketch #2 at Pencil Lines. I used the three strips on the right and the title (I put it on the other side to read it better). One big pic on the left and changed the small pic on the right for two normal size ones.

Chatterbox Villa kit for papers and corners. Again the stary corner points at dd in middle of the whole Year 1 B (sitting) and Year 3 A (standing) lot.

Flowers cut from paper and on pop dots.

Which was really funny as Missy was doing the same at the same time. Link to her blog on the side column. :)

Maria Horton´s class

Papers and alpha stickers: Chatterbox Sun Room and Guest Room kits.

Wendy! Do you recognize the flower eyelets? They are the ones you gave me. :D Thanks again sweetie.

Suddenly I see

We went to the cinema today. Watched "The devils wears Prada"

It was the starting point to discuss scrapbooking with dh. Why? He insists that having the latest and greatest is key to be noticed in the sb world. That having quick access to it is a main issue for those who are "in". In the movie the girl was unnoticed until she started wearing smart clothes and in turn the clothing got her to act smart. If you are going to watch it skip the rest.

< < < < < < < < < < < Well, the job she got in the end was thanks to a referal by her previous boss. BUT she was an executive assistant to her! She could be the greatest assistant in the world but is it for certain that she will be a good journalist? Well, no. Is it who you know important?

Saturday

The day started easy enough: ds´s Tae Kwon Do exam. We are now the proud parents of a green with blue tips Tae Kwon Do belt. As he was the highest graduation belt in his group he got to lead the forms and greetings. Dh was beaming.

Back home dh decided to paint the garage door. Plain and simple, right? Well, no.

First he needed to clean the door, therefore he "needed" a high pressure water thingie. We all went to the DIY store to buy one.

When he finished that he realized the difference in colour between the door and the arch would be too much. So he also washed the wall and ... it started to peel ... there I came with the metal tool to scrub the wall ... the rest of the front could do with a washing ... and peeling ... the porch as well ... Several hours later my hands are rough and my arms tired but we have a ready to paint front. Although it is now too dark to start the job.

Off to watch The 12 dancing princesses.

My mom is my #1 scrapbooking fan

She spent 25 (yes, that´s right TWENTY - FIVE) minutes looking at the 10 (only ten) I finished this month.

She wiggled every ribbon, touched every embellie and praised every paper combination (even the yukkiest ) She asked me to talk to her about the process in doing certain things.

When I told her the pages couldn´t be that good because I got no reaction from the scrapbooking community, she gave the computer screen a good PBS (Paddington Bear stare)

Luv her to bits.

New blog

Simple scrapbooks magazine has a new blog

The cool point for me is that their banner has the same metal Creative Imaginations (Allison Connors line) flowers that I have been using in my latest layouts.

It´s good to have something that is "in" at the time it is "in" ! Lol!

Pencil Lines Sketch #1

Anna has started a new sketch challenge site called
Pencil Lines .

To quote Anna: Pencil Lines is a blog all about using sketches to expand your artistic horizons, get you outside your box, and lift you out of scrappers block. It is about thinking outside your normal processes to create something wonderful.

She has her own DT for it and they post their interpretation of the weekly challenge every Sunday.

Here´s my take on the first sketch. It is really the right hand side of a double layout, hence no title or anything on it.

PS: if you look really carefully, you´ll se me and dh dressed as ... hot dogs. The things we´d do for our girl!

A sexy Pocahontas

October 12th is Columbus Day.

Dd got to play an indian at the school play. You should have seen dh´s jaw drop when she walked the length of the stage with a smile and a basket on her hip.

I own an original LO by Zeebootee

You may have seen her gallery at 2Peas in a Bucket or maybe her work at Creative Imaginations or Technique Tuesdays.

She is wonderfully talented. Her work has the most delicious details in a wide range of techniques, plus the photographs are superb.

Some time ago she needed some snow pictures and chose three of mine. She made a lovely page for CI and now they returned it to her she sent it to me. I´m honoured to have an original piece of art by Danea. And I´m also scrapping with all the lovely papers and embellies that she sent as well.

I´m so going to use allllll of them. Not keeping anything "for a better occasion". I´ve got them on my desk and I´m using them up. I even threw the packaging away so I wouldn´t be tempted to keep them in the bag. :D

We got a stand at Fematec!

Run, run, run. Opening on October 3rd at 2pm.

On October 2nd we discovered that one of our walls was 12" shorter than it should have been by the blueprint measurements. Panic, panic. The hight of one panel was wrong too. More running around holding heads. There was a space with wires showing that couldn´t be panelled by fire brigade regulations. By then we had lost the heads we were holding! ;)

Mad dash to remake 6 of the curtains for the show and make an extra one for the gap. By 1.50pm they were still putting those things up!

At 2.10pm with the first visitors arriving the stand was finished. Whew!

Here is the English version of the Fematec Fair´s website. Have a look and render their statistic guys crazy wondering why on Earth people from all over the world are visiting a local building fair. Lol!

The banner

The day has come.

September 29th 2006.

Ds went away with his classmates for a week to the educative farm. They have their banner saying "We are going to Verónica" and their handprints. Sweet. Cool.

Got only 19 out of 23 in the pic (the rest arrived late!)

Funny thing, two mothers came to me and said "I forgot my camera but told dh it was ok because you were here". My happysnappy style is well known. ;)

Talking about mothers, I got them to pose for this one.

The headless chicken

Final headless chicken day before ds goes camping.

60 kids from Year 5 (three classes) are going to an educative farm for a week. Dh went when he was 10 too and says it was more than fab. Many moms and dads I´ve talked to still smile when the name of the farm is mentioned. :D

We divided ds´s list: one day for toiletteries, another one for bed sheets and towels, another one for clothes. Matias wanted to participate in both the shopping and the making of his bag. I´m so glad he was so into it. A friend of his told me "Nooooooo, my mom makes the bag. I need to do nothing".

We just got his bike ready (needed to print his number and put a green ribbon on it) and dh is taking it to school now.

I *think* we have everything except for the new socks. Socks, socks, socks, need to remember socks. *Paula goes away mumbling*

20 weeks til I´m 40

You Are 26 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Ooooooooohhhhhh! Yes! That is excatly how I feel. My brain stopped getting older at 26. :D

Tagged by Wendy

The rules are: List 5 weird things about yourself or your pets.Tag 5 friends and list them. Then, those people need to write on their blogs about 5 weird things, and state the rules, and tag 5 more people.

I am tagging: Becky, Christi, Correna, Scrapdolly and Marja. (tagging on both sides of the Atlantic :D)

1. People tell me I´m "funny" all the time. They mean both "ha,ha" funny and "weird" funny.
2. I cry easily: when I´sad, when I´m frightened, when I´m angry. Got a loose tap.
3. When I was 12 I read "An old fashioned girl" by Loiusa May Alcott, which made me change my name from Paula to Polly (main character) for a while.
4. I also stopped wearing green because it said green "kills" blue. BTW, most of my wardrobe nowadays is green.
5. I love being tagged and receiving mail, even junk mail.
