AEDM Day 30 / SC quest: We did it!

A month ago somebody told us to grab our backpacks and go. And we did.

WE DID IT!

Congratulations to all the merry little band, wherever you are on your soul trip.
Thanks for all the warm comments here, the wise words of advice, the suggestions and the support.
Thanks for sharing your stories, your families, your homes.
Thanks making me feel welcomed everywhere in the world.
Thanks Jamie for leading the way.

A little something to sing and dance (remember the music? very nineties, lol. ):
"Come on and shine, into your future,
shining your light wherever you are.
Shine, shine the light.
Shine, shine the light"

AEDM Day 29 / SC Day 28: summer is coming

We both had our hair cut. :)

SC Day 28 The last one!
affirmation for today -I give love deeply and fully. I receivelove deeply and fully.
Today was a busy day and I´m writing this quite late. Just when I was about to write about the circle of love, what did I hear? This:
Cause we are sisters
We stand together
We make up one big family though we don't look the same
Our spots are different
Different colors
We make each other stronger
That ain't ever gonna change
We're cheetah girls cheetah sisters
Cool message. ;)

P:S: the pictures up there are Tatiana´s new hair style and the lyrics are from the Disney´s "Cheetah Girls" movie. :)

AEDM Day 28 / SC Day 27: the plan

Let´s go back, let´s say ... 25 years. A quarter of a century ago I was sweet 16, body of a woman, mind of a child, immerse in my sci fi books, best grades in the whole school, with a new boyfriend just because he was the only boy to ask me out. What did I want then?

The traditional plan for a girl:

* a degree (I am a professional librarian, what fun it was to study! The hours went without noticing, different from the first carrear I had chosen Mechanical Engineering <--- the good point about this one was meeting my hubby *grin*)
* a husband (I have the most caring, handsome, smart husband I could wish for)
* a flat / appartment ( I have the three level house I fell in love with with a small garden, all rooms are well lived and have signs of our presence here)
* a child (I have two awesome kids, a boy and a girl - how´s that for traditional family of four. We even have a dog, which I´d never ever thought about)
* visit Europe (we lived in Europe for a couple of years and travelled as much as we could)

And then I wanted to be a succesful writer.

Did you notice I didn´t mention friends? I had one, maybe two more that I kept in touch with for a while. I was not popular, totally low profile, teetotaler, classical clothes, head in books, boring for teens standards. At 18 I was called "sosa", that means without flavour. It tinted my vision of myself further.
Now I have a ton of friends, both local and on line.

My life is beyond my wildest dreams as a teenager.

The plan for the next 25 years.

* See my kids grow up and be there for them.
* Support my hubby in having his own business.
* Participate in my community (that is mainly school stuff nowadays)
* Conect with more interesting people on the net, getting my name "out there"
* Be chosen for a scrapbooking DT
* Get to travel again.
* Be able to buy art from friends

AEDM Day 27 / SC Day26

AEDM: I could ... but I chose not to.
The temperature thingie ( too lazy to go downstairs to check the spelling, you know what I´m talking about ;) ) says 41º in the craft room.

SC Day 26:
affirmation for today: I am at home wherever I am

My home was a love at first sight. I saw it from the opposite side of the street and fell in love.
"I ... want ... that ... house! Even if we have to eat rice every day for years" I don´t usually ask for stuff but when I do ...
We redecorated / changed the wires, plumbing, stairs, fireplace, the lot. Only the walls stayed in most rooms.
We made it ours.

People feel comfortable here. Our parties are the longest and with the best attendance rates. :D

Today was my last day home alone. A few hours home for me.
Of course there are the painters with their demands but I can handle that.
Then dh phoned at quarter to one to ask if I had lunch plans. Errrrmmmmm (I was thinking of yoghurt for lunch)....... nooooooo... just tell me what you´d like.
At 2.30pm our son arrived early from school with two friends. "We were back early and as we were so close to home ... "
Andrea phoned about a birthday present.
Gladys phones about a lift for said party.

There goes my free time. But you know what? That was completely fine. :) I am home.

AEDM Day 26 / SC Day 25: Patagonia dreaming

AEDM Day 26:
Sticker sneeze Part 2
I put it together with Sticker sneeze part 1 so you could see how they are going to look together in the flowers album.
You may notice that since the original part 1 post I added ... ermmmmmmm ... another sticker. *grin*
SC DAy 25:
affirmation for today - I am in harmony with the natural rhythm of life.

Some days I live at Internet speed (a saying by Tom Peters, management guru). That is neck breaking speeeeeeeeeeed, plus I live each situation a dozen times before I actually live it.
Some days I barely veg. <--- Now that I say it, I notice that this has not happened for a while. Cool. :)
Level can´t remember which: yes, my body has mountains (it´s a family trait ;) ) and valleys and hills. I´m turning more of a Jupiter than an Earth though. *giggle*
A gift of Nature for you: click ON THIS LINK to see Patagonia pictures. Please click on the mosaics to see bigger versions. The colours are vibrant and fresh that way.

If you want to know what it says just give me a holler and I´ll translate it for you. It is in Spanish and is mainly a visual story of our holidays plus a self portrait a day (I was part of a daily portrait project for that month)

AEDM Day 25 / SC Day 24: Child of the Universe

AEDM Day 25: crafting with the girls at Bible class. That´s me with dd and a little friend. After finishing today´s cradle for baby Jesus the helping moms arranged all the kids stuff together (the calendar, the crown and the cradle).

SC Day 24:

Affirmation for today: My body is incredibly strong and healthy

If I managed to think and move in this heat without melting or collapsing, I am strong indeed. :)

Where do I begin? Holding up your body.

There is a saying in Spanish "El hábito no hace al monje" That means that even if somebody wears monk´s clothes he is not a monk if he is not spiritually prepared. BUT there is also "Wear the part", dressing has a powerful influence on mood. Like me when I underdressed on Saturday. That is also true for the way you hold your body as Denise says.

I love the "Child of the Universe" description. That´s how I´ve always felt, beyond country frontiers.

Level 1: What does my body say about me? It depends on the day. Some days I bounce, some days I drag my feet. While I worked I dressed up every day as I was the first person you saw when you entered the showroom. Nowadays I use colourful jeans and t shirts. I need shorts asap!!! I tend to smile even if I don´t feel like it. I´ll tell you I´m fine even if my head is splitting (I am a borderline migraine person).

Where does all this take me? *Paula looks around in confusion because she lost the plot somewhere in this post and can´t remember where she was going*

AEDM Day 24 / SC Day 23: the sticker sneeze

AEDM Day 24:
just like I said yesterday I usually do ... I spent most of my free time surfing this morning, just 20 minutes before leaving to pick the kids up from school I put "crecer" together. It is called "growing up" because I have the same picture of them when they were 4 & 1 years old (now they are 12 and 9).

The second page is what in scrapbooking is called a "sticker sneeze". That is when you put stickers all over the place. In this case it even has stickers on stickers. :D

SC Day 23:

affirmation for today - my mind, body and spirit are clear channels for love, kindness and universal life force

Talking about surfing. I found a mine of detox info in this post by Dia and also on this other post

It is the first time I´ve heard about dry brushing (which I won´t do) and water blessing (which I´m interested in).

It´s only a month till summer but the temperatures have been unusually high these days. You know what that means: less clothes. Tiny young ´uns in tiny bright clothes. I can "do" bright. I can´t do tiny. It is disappointing not being able to dress as I want.

In my head I´m not a day over 26 and I´m still 56kg. I´m actually 41 and I´m not telling how much I weight! Lol!

The first day of not eating in between meals and adding fresh fruit/yoghurt for lunch is both the most difficult (I´m thinking about food all the time) and the easiest (I still have my will power intact).

Who know what tomorrow may bring.

AEDM 23 / SC Day 22: almost no sleep is good for me

AEDM Day 23: Arrived home 4.30am after dancing with friends at the club. Stayed till dawn, listening to Denise´s audio for today and surfing.I took pictures of the moon because it was pretty.

Went to bed at 7am and woke up at 10am with a burning desire to finish these pages that had been brewing this past week. So I did. :D
SC Day 22:
affirmation for today: I am one with the Earth. I am one with my body.
Yesterday I didn´t felt that good with my body. My friends are so much thinner than I am and they can use such pretty clothes (it didn´t help that I had certainly underdressed for the event)
I felt one with the Earth because I felt as big as the Earth, lol.
A logical step to take would be exercise but I´d rather spend my free time here. Of course there is always the "eat less" option ...

More later. :)

AEDM Day 22 / SC Day 21: Mehr Klickgeräusch

A picture from yesterday, just because she is cute and I love her. My cousin Alexandra about to blow her 30th birthday candle.

AEDM 22: picture for fire week.
The last time I bought make up base was back in October 2004. *shudder* Time for action. ;) And I also got myself a nail polish and lip gloss. The bag was an unexpected free bonus. :)

SC Day 21:
affirmation for today: incredible creative life force flows through my entire being.
We will go dancing with friends tonight.

AEDM 21 / SC Day 20: not today

Things are getting yellow over here. :)

AEDM Day 21 is a collage for SC Day 20: (word games with Bee good because we had to do RAKs today)

affirmation for today -I am a loving spiritual being.

I seem to be doing stuff one day before we are supposed to. That happened all week.
I usually AM the one that listens, pats, embraces and helps. I infuse some kindness into each day.

Yesterday my car was dirtied by a bird, egged (some graduating kids from the school in the corner where playing and one missed his target  ) and scratched by a cat. :( On top of that we received some bad financial news both from my cousin and my bil who work in the financial sector. Hard days are coming for us as a country and in consequence for us as a family.

When dh asked "Don´t you just want to pack and leave the country?" I smiled a genuine smile and said "No. We´ve been through it in 2001 and we can make it again". I thought the Soul coaching was working.

Today I felt sad and tired, with no will to take care of anybody else ... but I did. ;)
AEDM part 2: a birthday cardfor my cousin. She is 30 today!

AEDM Day 20 / SC Day 19: Klickgeräusch

Isn´t that a wonderful word?
Klickgeräusch is my new favourite word. It is German and it means "Click sound".

Talking about clicking here´s a family pic taken yesterday as it was my father in law´s birthday. My mother in law had been saving for years to buy him this boat. From left to right: my daughter, my son, my brother in law, mom & dad in law, hubby, sister in law and me. Btw, that is not our Fifi but Uli.

AEDM Day 20 & SC Day 19:

affirmation for today - I live in the present moment with courage and love.

When I was a teen I imagined my death as dramatic and young. Nowadays I want to go in my sleep when I´m over a hundred. I´m very nosy and I´d hate to miss the gossip when I´m no longer here.
There is a quote by Winnie the Pooh about living to be a hundred minus a day and he seems to be offering life a hug. :)

AEDM Day 19 / SCDay 18 Time to be here

AEDM Day 19: SC collage. Saying Yes (Sí) to life. A few autoreferencial things like the fast menu sign with a McD sticker because that´s what we hadfor lunch (can´t cook with the workers here) and a swimming mask, plus my age. A young 41. :D
SC Day 18:
affirmation for today -"I invite the pure light of the sun into my heart. May it shine from my heart to the world."

Level 3 is choose each moment. I did that yesterday. I already told my UKS team mates that (and I quote myself) yesterday had more comings and goings than usual as I needed some extra chores done and somehow I ended up being the mom in charge of four young huns at bible class. By the way that wasn´t a complaint! I love the girlies so it was fun to stay at the class and I like my house/dog enough to go out and fetch things for them. :)

Loved this post by Genie Sea. To change our perspective on each scene.

AEDM Day 18 / SC Day 16

AEDM Day 18: crafting with the girls. I was in charge of this table at Bible class: Tati & 3 of her friends from school. We were making advent crowns, with one candle for each Advent Sunday.
A progress picture from my home with the rails half black and half white. It changes the look of the house so much!

SC Day 17:
affirmation for today - I unconditionally accept all of myself.
Not yet, sweetie, not yet.
I was so busy today zooming everywhere that my shadow couldn´t keep up with me. Lol!

AEDM Day 17 / SC Day 16

AAEDM (art almost every day month, lol! just kidding. )Day 17:

another scraps layout. My godson whose name starts with M, on his third birthday (therefore the title Three)

SC Day 16
affirmation for today -"I am free to experience joy in every moment . . . no matter what is happening in my life."

I´ve been tagged by Genie Sea. And as I love multi purpose stuff here are my six random facts, related to today´s exercise. :D

Here are the rules:
Link to the person or persons who tagged you. That would be Genie Sea
Post the rules on your blog. Here they are. *grin*
Write six random things about yourself.
Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

1. I like my birth date all year round, except on my birthday. Because I´m told "HAPPY birthday" or "have a great day". How do I do that? Just as I can´t cry or laugh on command, I can´t be happy on command. I just freak and run in circles.

2. I love habits, I hate routines. Uh? You say. Aren´t habits routinary? Yes, but they are small tidbits. I do things in a certain order (verging on ocd but not really ;) ), use certain products but hate to "do" always the same. That´s why I can´t be a regular teacher even though I love to teach. I can´t stand teaching the same year after year. I´m great with the odd class here and there. A year at the most. Then I´m gone.

3. I´m the mom who sings, dances and tells odd jokes.

4. My parties are the longest in the family. People always leave late, no matter when the party starts. E.g: one year I started at 5pm I still they left at 1am.

5. Errrrmmmm, what else? I´m always being told I´m funny. Used to ask if they meant weird funny or haha funny. I don´t ask any more. I know they mean both but are too polite to say it. *grin*

6. I took the kids to the ice cream parlour as a surprise for a "more weekend fun during your week" moment after school. I had Moca & Orange. :)

AEDM Day 16 / SC Day 15

Art every day month is no longer exact as I missed yesterday. But here I am today. :D

I´m a scraps scrapper. I "open" papers for bigger pages and then use the scraps on smaller ones. This is a scraps layout. It is called "Change" as it is a pic from the moment we were moving rooms around.

SC Day 15:

Fire week started with a fire. A barbeque fire. *grin*

It was family day for Tati´s class. We gathered at the German Club here in our neighbourhood for lunch. Each family brought something and we had a fab time. Even the kids teacher was present.

That´s me in the red shirt with hubby, sharing our table with three other families. I took the second picture which I posted here because it had the sun element Denise mentioned.

AEDM 15 / SC Day 14

We watched "The one" with Jet Li today. It was something about there not being an UNIverse but a MULTIverse. They showed it on "Universal" channel, which of course we had to call "Multiversal" and it al deteriorated from there. We told silly jokes and screamed questions at the screen as "Whyyyyyyyyy are you doing that?" It was not supposed to be a funny film but ... it was. We laughed so much!

This has nothing to do with either Art Every Day Month (which I haven´t done, but hey, there are still three hours left for today ;) ) or SC but I wanted to say it aloud anyway.

Maybe because I really watched the movie, unlike most of the time when I´m there but surfing while the rest of the family watches. There, but not really there. This time I CHOSE to be there. Fully.

Wasn´t that the exercise for today? To choose?

Maybe it had something to do with SC after all. *grin*

AEDM Day 14 / SC Day 13: Finally!

AEDM Day 14: Woooo Hoooooo! For the FIRST time in two weeks, I finished today´s collage ... today. *Grin*
All images are from Elle´s magazine, november issue. Any words you want to know, just ask. I used my round punch to cut images I could relate to.

SC Day 13:
affirmation for today - MY LIFE IS BLESSED, AND I AM SO GRATEFUL
Level 1: in progress :)
Level 2: I wrote my own list and put it in the envelope in the middle of the page. It included people like my loving husband, my great kids, my cool mom and her bunch of funny nutters (aka relatives), and a ton of friends. Sil & Vivi (my bestest friends here), Ching & Wendy who I met in California, Rita who I haven´t met but love anyway, Marja (the most generous lady around), Tracey (super scrapper extraordinaire) and a bunch of SC girlies. The list was looooooong as it included my kids friends as well. :)
Level 3: before listening to Denise I saw myself in the mirror and thought "I look pretty today". It stopped me in my tracks. I´d never thought anything of the kind. *Paula looks around nervously*

To round off: a picture of our home getting ready to be painted

AEDM Day 13 / SC Day 12: when things start to happen

AEDM Day 13: been playing with paper cuttings. From the 12 days and two titles I finished ... one title. *Paula shrugs and giggles* Picture tomorrow.

Another thing I finished were the inside pages for my birthday book. Guess whose birthday is on February 12th? ;)

SC Day 12:
affirmation for today -IN THE CENTRE OF MY BEING, THERE IS ALWAYS STILLNESS AND PEACE
Level 1: go slower. Easy, "slow" is in my nature. ;)
Level 2: listen to the messages.
I´m reading SC and dh is getting the synchronicities. Uh?
Yesterday the kids saved a baby bird. I didn´t bet it would survive the night but they googled what baby birds ate and fed it (yes, I cooked for a bird). Today we opened the box we had him in (ds was worried he´d be too cold) and left him in the balcony where bird mom could see him (she´d be cheering from the neighbour´s roof yesterday). When dh went to check on him after taking the kids to school ... the baby bird had flown on his own!
Level 3: do nothing. It is not as easy as it sounds. SLOW is one thing. STILL is another.

AEDM Day 12 / SC Day 11: things happening twice

AEDM: another layout lifted from Caz. :)
SC: Thanks to Jamie for the heads up on Denise´s audio posts. They are wonderful!
affirmation for today- I AM LOVED & LOVABLE. I LOVE DEEPLY AND FULLY, AND I AM LOVED DEEPLY AND FULLY.
Trying to listen to the Universe messages:
*somebody took my parking space TWICE today. It had never happened in the past five years since I started driving.
*we found a dead/almost dead baby bird TWICE today. Must have happend at the most three / four times in the past ten years since we moved here.
Any ideas what this means?

Unable to clean anything. We have the painters starting work today. Dust is my middle name now. ;)
