Check Point: week 1
1. I´ve done my daily pages every day.
Aha, you´ve noticed that I wrote "daily" and "day" instead of morning, right? I only had one "early morning"set, most were mid morning and even had an afternoon set. But they are getting me somewhere and that´s what this journey is about.
Unfortunately the first three days only brought me nightmares. I was doing the "divide your life in 5 year segments and identify the negative statements" task. Each night I had very vivid and detailed dreams that I could actually remember a whole day. Then life got in the way and the present didn´t allow time for the past.
2. The artist´s date. Kind of. I got a couple of surfing sessions getting to know some amazing women doing cool stuff. Not leaving the house though.
3. Other meaningful stuff. I´ve read the chapter three times now. First to know what it is about. I did all the tasks in my head. Then read it again to see if I had missed something and refined the process. Read it today for the third time to jot down some note about the tasks. Every time I read it I come closer to accepting some things and affirmations.
On to week 2. :)

unexpected craft
Your Power Level is: 57% |
I think I´ve done it before with a different result. It all depends on how you are feeling at the moment you answer the quizz.
Yesterday´s party was a success, that much is true. With less people than usual (many on hols) but more than I expected, everybody was delighted by the ... power cut. Aha, the whole neighbourhood lost power right at the beginning of the party. Fortunately we had a gas camping light that dh put hanging from our living room lamp and loads of pretty candles around the house.

I´m 40 today!
I had never had a birthday gathering just with girl friends. Pictures will follow as soon as I can figure out how to upload them from my pretty little new phone (Sony Ericsson W300i) to my ...
ready?
This was the surprise present from dh.
NEW LAPTOP!!! :D
It´s a Sony Vaio, black with bronze borders that I called Virginia. First for the Virginia Slims ad (you´ve come a long way baby ;) ) and Virginia Woolf. Instead of "A room of her own" I have "A laptop of her own" but it is the same concept. :)
On the other hand, if my phone has Bluetooth, it should be called Bloo in honour of Blooregard Q Kazoo. Ever watched the Foster Mansion from Imaginary Friends?. Maybe the laptop should be Madame Foster.
That´s it: Bloo and Madame Virginia Foster. :)
Happy 40 year old bunny.

Ready to hit the ground running

At least, it feels that way. :D Four pages in 24 hours. Cool, hu?
I´m back to my scraplift or tuck things in corners style (except for the first one, but I was having a redhead moment then, lol! ;) ).
Here´s my take on Sketch #11 from Pencil Lines
I have a lot of catching up to do as they are on number 18 by now! That will
teach me not to stop scrapping for two months. :)
All KI papers and embellies. Chatterbox alpha.

I wanna be a redhead

Dd started sobbing and said she would "ink" her hair too. And I know she is very literal. :D
Ds said "I don´t want to have a red head mother".
Dh looked at me as if trying to see if I was joking or not before expressing an opinion. "Maybe some highlights" he suggested.
I know I could be a redhead this afternoon but I don´t want to come back home to wrinkled noses and a dd with ink on her hair. So I made a layout instead.
Have you ever changed your look radically?

Finding water
There is a new book by her called "Finding water" on starting new projects and keep going. :)
Being a week away from the big 4 - 0 the "start new things" has been on my mind a lot!
A couple of girls have set the Finding water blog as a project to follow that book starting on Feb 17th.
I followed Leah´s blog with the ART EVERYDAY MONTH project back in November. She is a fab young artist. Her paintings are elegant, creative and very much my style.
I hope I can follow this project, even if I don´t actually have the book. :)

Play
There is a whole city on the floor.
It is called Sertora and is the Capital City of the planet Eraklion. It has it´s own flag and I can show you a map of the planet if you wish.
Many, many stories take place in Eraklion and it´s colony Pokner.
Ds is the Master of Eraklion and dd of Pokner.
I got myself the title of "Empress of This Universe and Subsidiaries" ;) My mom did not raise a fool. :D

I need to find 6 weird things about me.
Let´s start with one:
For the past eight years we always have pizza for dinner on Thursdays.
As a matter of fact it was originally on Wednesdays. Ds was three years old and I was already expecting dd. I attended a course on medieval monasteries (Hey, I found weird thing #2! ;) ) and dh picked me up after that. We had to pick ds up from my mil´s and by then was too tired to cook. That´s how our Pizza nights started. Not weird really, the weird part is that I finished that course seven years ago and we still have pizza!
Tonight´s pizzas. :)

Your Dominant Thinking Style: Visioning |
An idealist, thinking of the future helps you guide your path. You tend to give others long-term direction and momentum. |
I´m a Speshal girl!
It´s number 10 in the UK BLogs List and I´m thrilled to bits to have been invited. :D
I fiddled with papers for weeks and finally sent this page. It is my title page for Christmas 2005. My theme was Lists, so I created a list of the things I record every year: the decorations, the tree, the letters to Santa, the presents and the cards we get.
A little secret about those two red ribbons that everybody liked so much: they are there to cover the black cable that goes from the tree to the socket by the chimney, about shoulder level. Lol!
All the papers are this year Doodlebug Christmas collection. I also used the same collection stickers, chipboard stickers and ribbon.
Merry Christmas 2006!

Peter Pan

Nicolás, my cousin Alexandra´s son played Peter Pan at the Kindergarten end of the year play. Each class danced a song for the boys, one for the girls and then a third one together. The two year olds were Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.
Our Peter Pan is the one on the left following his teachers instructions with such a concentrated look. Third from the right in the group pic.

Bringing Tango Thursdays back
If in fact you are listening to them today, try Jueves (Thursday) . A lovely instrumental piece.
Delicious yummyness

Tatiana invited Sol home today for a baking afternoon. :)
We made cinnamon cookies and walnuts ones. While they waited for the cinnamon dough to rest in the fridge they played and I prepared the walnut dough. After that we all worked on the "Nussringen" and put them in the oven. Just in time for the cinnamon to be ready to be cut with the cute shapes.

A visit to Santa

At 10am as soon
as the Unicenter shopping mall doors opened we were skipping and hopping along the corridors towards Santa´s Grotto. It is placed at a different spot this year, so many were wandering around to find it while we made a bee line.
Mati has a "ok, one more year I endure this staff" look and Tati has her "picture smile".
P.S: Missy I thought of you when I chose dd´s dress for today. I know you love the sleeveless Christmas pictures. :D

You Are Balanced - Believer - Empowered |
You feel your life is controlled both externally and internally. You have a good sense of what you can control and what you should let go.Depending on the situation, you sometimes try to exert more control.Other times, you accept things for what they are and go with the flow. You are a true believer in luck, fate, and karma. You believe that life is a game of chance - not a game of skill. You either consider yourself very unlucky or very lucky. No matter what, you don't feel like you can change the hand you were dealt. You have a good deal of power, but you also know the pecking order. You realize that working the system does get you further. You know who to defer to and who to control. When it comes to the game of life, you play things flawlessly. |

UKS Harry Potter crop
Class 1: Notions & Potions by Nat Adapted the big pic with two ordinary size ones. With the digi I am doing more of the big sized ones as I have to pick and choose what I want to print. Before that I used the 6x4 that I got directly from the developing envelope. Stamping on transparency. Fun note: I got a comment complimenting me on the wonky title, I will confess it´s just a mistake as words in Spanish are so %)696##/%# long. ;)
Class 2: Magical by Lynz. The glitter sneeze is supposed to be the magic wand wooooosh! I really liked this class. It was the level of difficulty I was looking for.
Music

Sorry I´ve been mia these past days. I should have just got a tent and camped at school!
Monday: open class for dd. We had to go and work with the kids for a couple of hours.
Wednesday: usually I´m out from 9.15 am to 5.15 pm. That day I had to leave at 8.15am for parents & teachers meeting for ds plus open class. The kids have tables for four and each parent had to be at their kids table and work with them. Whew! And at 5 I discovered I had forgotten my home´s keys, I had to go all the way back to San Isidro to fetch dh´s. Add another couple of hours.
Thursaday: 9 am to 10.30 am First cycle (years 1 to 3) music exhibition. Dd was a doll at a toy shop for her expression workshop and then was in the "musical gloves" number with Year 1 (very funny that one). 11 am to 1 pm Second cycle (Year 4 to 6) That was ds with his flute and the sikuris (traditional native Southamerican instrument). My mom came to see them so she stayed for lunch and then all afternoon.
